2020 Membership and Club Fees:
UCHC were advised on 12/2 of the increase to the HA levy in 2020 and how it affects our members. As HACT team and training fees remain unchanged for 2020, the UC BoM has also kept club fees unchanged, including offering a $50 early bird discount for fees paid in full prior to 29 March 2020.
From Rob Sheekey, HACT CEO:
"HACT also announced the upgrade of Watt field lights and scoreboards on Watt, Powell & Kjar fields, expected to be completed prior to Round 1.The Hockey Australia fees have increased by CPI. However the member will also be paying an additional $12 per member to cover the HA Insurance levy. Previously this amount has been paid separately by Hockey ACT however given the budget for 2020 this is no longer a cost Hockey ACT is able to absorb. As you are aware Hockey ACT have not increased team entry fees or field hire for the past 5 years. However 2020 will see Hockey ACT need to undertake some large infrastructure projects that neither myself or the Board believe can be delayed any longer. In an ideal world our business revamp would have been completed by this stage and this increase may not have been necessary. Delays however have pushed back the childcare projects and any revenue they generate is unlikely to be realised until April 2021.The staff of Hockey ACT and The Board have not taken this decision lightly however believe this step is necessary for the financial security of the association moving forward. The good news is that the participant will see the benefits of this increase as the money will assist with replacing three of the five scoreboards as well as a long overdue replacement of the lights on the Watt Field. We do apologise for this increase. Hockey ACT has worked hard for the previous 5 seasons to not increase fees however the $12 per member increase in our opinion is unavoidable for 2020."
